Tyler Lopes earned the win as Seacrest Country Day scored four runs in the top of the seventh and then held off a late rally by Sarasota Christian to win 8-4 in a 2A regional final. The Stingrays (17-11-1) advance to a state semifinal at 10 a.m. May 11th against Jacksonville Christ’s Church Academy.
In addition to Seacrest Country Day, Venice, Barron Collier, Bishop Verot and Canterbury all came away winners Tuesday in the regional playoffs.
